A Carroll Teen Is In A Nebraska Jail And Another In A Nebraska Hospital After Leading Authorities On A High-Speed Chase In A Stolen Vehicle

One Carroll teen is in custody in Nebraska and another is in a Lincoln hospital after fleeing from authorities in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday. Carroll Chief of Police, Brad Burke, says they received the report of a vehicle stolen from the 300 block of North Crawford Street at approximately 6:07 a.m. Wednesday. Later in the day, the Nebraska State Patrol attempted to stop the driver for speeding on I-80. The 17-year-old did not stop, but instead led authorities on a high-speed chase, which ended when the vehicle crashed. Eighteen-year-old More Kurenge of Carroll was a passenger and was transported for treatment of unspecified injuries. The juvenile has been charged with felony flight, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, speeding, careless driving, no operator’s license, minor in possession of alcohol, driving under suspension, driving on the shoulder, failure to maintain a lane, failure to signal and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
