Wild Rose Casino And Resort Continues To Fight Gambling Addiction During Problem Gambling Awareness Month

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), nearly 300,000 Iowans experienced a gambling issue in the past year, and Gov. Kim Reynolds is expected to sign a proclamation next week declaring March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month. Travis Dvorak, the general manager at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson, says Iowa casinos are committed to reducing gambling addiction.

Dvorak says Wild Rose’s primary mission is to provide entertainment to their customers and there is nothing entertaining about gambling problems.

He says they take that responsibility seriously by offering in-house help or connecting customers with possible treatment.

Symptoms of a problem include excessive thinking about betting, repeatedly trying to reduce or stop gambling without success, lying to family or friends about your habits or relying on others to help with financial issues caused by gambling. If you or somebody you know could be struggling with a gambling addiction, call 1-800-BETS OFF for help or follow the links included below this story on our website.
