The official route for RAGBRAI through the immediate area has now been released. The longest ride of the week, not including the optional loop, will be making stops in several local communities on Monday, July 23. After overnighting in Denison, riders will travel down M36 to connect with M55, and then on south to Highway 141, which will take them to Aspinwall and Manning. Riders will be looping up to the north on N14 through Templeton, then heading east on E57 before coming back south to 141 via Highway 71. Travel continues east through Dedham and then on to Coon Rapids, which is a meeting town. From there, cyclists will hit County Road E63 and connect with Highway 25 north to Scranton and on to Jefferson on E53, where they will stop for the night. The 71.7 mile route will include 2,537 feet of climb. Every day throughout this week, a segment of the full route, including roads and pass-through towns, will be released.
