Vehicle Is Disabled In Rear-End Collision Wednesday In Jefferson

One vehicle was disabled in a rear-collision accident Wednesday in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene at 220th and Mulberry Streets at approximately 3:54 p.m. The investigation revealed that Jacob Hagen of Jefferson was westbound on 220th, and had stopped to yield to oncoming traffic before making a left turn onto Mulberry. While stopped, he was struck from behind by a 2006 Buick LaCrosse, driven by Luella Miller of Boone. The Hagen 2014 Chevrolet Silverado sustained only about $500 in damage to the rear bumper, however the Miller vehicle had about $3,000 in damages and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Miller was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
