The Jefferson Police Department has opened an investigation into thefts reported on Monday. At approximately 11:52 a.m., an officer was called to the 900 block of East Lincoln Way Street and told that 10 vehicle batteries had been stolen. The officer also learned of the alleged theft of electricity from a location in the 600 block of North Olive Street. The same suspect is believed to be involved in both cases.
