National cellular provider, U.S. Cellular, has announced they will be offering additional wireless capacity at three overnight stops during next week’s RAGBRAI. Cell Light Trucks (COLTs) will be brought into Jefferson on Monday, Ames on Tuesday and Sigourney on Thursday. “We want to help ensure that everyone who comes to enjoy RAGBRAI can use their smartphones like they want to,” says Mike Adams, director of sales for Iowa and Nebraska. “The COLTs will provide a better wireless network experience for all who bicycle across Iowa.” The COLTs can also be deployed to establish instant communication for responders to natural disasters and emergency situations where landline communication is interrupted. The Jefferson COLT will be located at U.S. Cellular’s downtown location.
