An unforeseen delay in the arrival of some construction materials for the new Carroll Stadium had a trickle-down effect on the first ever joint back-to-school celebration of the Kuemper Catholic Schools and the Carroll Public Schools. The “Two Schools, One Community” celebration, however, is back on with a new date of Wednesday, Aug. 29. Beginning at 6 p.m., parents, students and community members, whether they have a child at one of the schools or not, are invited to get a close-up look at the new stadium and what it has to offer. They will also be able to enjoy a dinner prepared by both schools’ booster clubs, hear the marching bands take to the new turf and see the staff from both schools come together for a rousing game of flag football. Don’t miss out on the parade of champions that includes all participants in the fall activities as well as special guests. And if the new scoreboard is programmed and ready to roll, they will be broadcasting a movie on it for the enjoyment of all of their guests.
