The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) has partnered with N Bowdish Company and Sparky’s Eastside in Carroll to give motorists the opportunity to fill their tanks with E15 for only $1.99 per gallon. The fuel blend of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent petroleum, will only be sold at this price for a limited time on Friday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. However, this event will also be an educational opportunity for the organizations to help customers learn more about the benefits of the ethanol blend. “E15 is the best fuel option for all 2001 and newer vehicles, says Lucy Norton, IRFA Managing Director. “It is higher octane, improves vehicle performance and reduces the amount of cancer-causing toxic chemicals in our air.” Norton adds that they are excited to be able to engage with the Sparky’s customers and share details about this smarter, cleaner fuel choice. Those coming by during the sale period will be able to participate in an E15 trivia contest, in which winners will receive a $25 ethanol gift card. Adventureland tickets and other door prizes will also be given away during the event.
