Tuesday Evening Collision Results From Driver Reaching For Coffee

There was extensive damage but neither driver was injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday evening on Highway 141 south of Carroll. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 6:50 p.m. They found that a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by 62-year-old Nina Marie Susan Mace of Jeffers on was westbound on the highway. While reaching for a cup of coffee, Mace crossed the centerline, striking a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 27-year-old Rachel Marie Nees of Dedham. Both vehicles came to rest in the south ditch. There was an estimated $20,000 in damage to the Mace SUV and $15,000 to the Equinox. Mace was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway.
