A joint rally between the Democratic Party central committees of Carroll, Crawford and Greene Counties will be held for the first time next week. To kick-off the 2018 election season, the three groups will come together on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Templeton Center Grand Hall. This will give local Democrats the opportunity to meet with candidates who are running for office in federal, state and local races, as well as to learn more about opportunities to engage in the process. Speakers will include: gubernatorial candidates Dr. Andy McGuire, Fred Hubbell, Ross Wilburn and John Norris; Iowa Secretary of State candidate, Jim Mowrer; 4th Congressional District candidates, Dr. John Paschen and J.D. Scholten; Congressman, John Delaney, who is also making a bid for the presidency in 2020; and Iowa Democratic Party Chair, Troy Price. Tickets for the rally are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Update: Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Nate Boulton, and 4th Congressional District candidate, Leann Jacobsen, have confirmed that they both will also be in attendance at Saturday’s rally.
