Three local families are among 50 from across the state who will be getting an assist with their school savings this winter. Thanks to the Iowa Student Loan’s Save Now, Save Later: College Savings Plan Parent Giveaway, they will have an additional $1,000 deposited into their student’s College Savings Iowa account. Melissa Boeck of Denison, Amy McAlister of Rockwell City and Sally Magner of Carroll were selected from the more than 4,000 entries submitted this past October. “It is crucial to start thinking about future plans before they become a stressful scramble at the end of high school,” says Boeck. “Save Now, Save Later is a great program to start getting things rolling in a helpful direction without being too overwhelming.” The annual program giveaway is open to residents who have students in grades six through 12 in an Iowa school.
