Team Of Experts Coming In To Help Plan For The Transition When Carroll County IT/GIS Director Retires

Earlier this year, Carroll County Zoning Administrator, Information Technology (IT) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Director, Carl Wilburn, announced his plans to retire in the next year or so. Since that announcement, the Board of Supervisors has contacted the Iowa Counties Information Technology (ICIT) group to help them develop a plan for the transition. The first step in the process will bring a team of representatives from other counties around the state to Carroll on Wednesday. This ICIT team will begin a preliminary review of the current situation and then meet with supervisors to discuss their anticipated future needs and to begin developing a strategy to meet them. This meeting will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in the board conference room in the Carroll County Courthouse. ICIT is affiliated with the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) and was created to assist with the advancement of technology through a cooperative system among counties from across Iowa.
