Suspect In Armed Home Invasion And Robbery In Hartley Detained In Storm Lake

Two men suspected of taking part in an armed home invasion and robbery in Hartley were arrested by Storm Lake Police on Saturday. Law enforcement throughout the area had been alerted to be on the lookout for a vehicle and its occupants, and at approximately 3:05 p.m. that afternoon, an officer on patrol spotted the suspect’s vehicle. Police made contact with three occupants, two who were detained. The third was released during the course of the investigation. Twenty-year-old Casey Tuttle of Spencer and 37-year-old James Bainbridge of Sioux Rapids were the two detained. Authorities allege that Tuttle was in possession of a knife and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with carrying weapons, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He and Bainbridge were both transferred to the custody of the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Department. The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted by the Hartley Police Department and the Buena Vista and O’Brien County Sheriff’s Offices.
