Supervisors Approve Contract And Bond Regulations For Carroll County Jail Project

It has now been just about two weeks since the residents of Carroll County approved a public measure that will allow the Board of Supervisors to construct a new 16,800 square-foot jail and Sheriff’s Office, not to exceed $8.95 million. Last week, a meeting with principals from Shive Hattery gave the board some direction as to what was needed to proceed with the design phase and pre-bid work. At Monday’s meeting, the board discussed the existing Shive Hattery contract and if there were any concerns or changes needed. Rich Ruggles said there was nothing that stood out to him as unusual. Neil Bock asked about other supervisors’ thoughts on continuing as is.

Carroll County Auditor, Kourtney Irlbeck, also brought up another piece of paperwork it was recommended to have on file, regardless of whether they would ever use the document or not.

Both the resolution for reimbursement bond regulations compliance and the current Shive Hattery contract were approved on unanimous votes.
