Arrest warrants have been sought on a juvenile male who destroyed a classroom at the Greene County Middle School and injured an instructor. The Jefferson Police Department reports they were called to the school at approximately 1:45 p.m. last Friday for assistance with a violent juvenile. Upon arrival they found that the 10-year-old student had ravaged the room, broke cell phones and computer equipment and assaulted the teacher. The juvenile was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for an evaluation, then later transferred to an out-of-county facility. Warrants have been requested for disorderly conduct violent behavior, a simple misdemeanor, second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, and assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. The teacher was also transported to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment of minor injuries.
