Storm Lake Authorities Searching For Suspect Who Used A Handgun During A Convenience Store Robbery Tuesday

Storm Lake authorities are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that took place Tuesday night at Casey’s Central Store. At approximately 9:45 p.m., a hold up alarm alerted police of the incident. Upon arrival, they were informed by store staff that a black male had entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money. The robber took an unspecified amount of cash from the register and fled on foot. Police processed the scene and canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the man. The suspect is approximately 6’ 1’’ to 6’ 3” tall and around 220 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black zip-up coat with a hood, grey sweatpants, white shoes, neon yellow gloves and a black facemask. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation.
