St. Anthony To Provide Preview Sunday Of Garden View, Their New $10 Million Assisted Living Residence

In the fall of 2016, St. Anthony Regional Hospital broke ground on Garden View, a $10 million, 36-unit assisted living facility on the southeast side of their campus. And beginning next month, they will receive their first tenant, in what is already anticipated to be a full residence within just a few short months. Director, Kari Nuzback, is a BSN, RN who has been working in long-term care for nearly 15 years. She says assisting our seniors is a passion for her, and she and the rest of the staff are excited to be bringing this service to area residents and family members.

She says the building is designed to ensure that each and every apartment is close to all of the amenities available to their tenants. The administration selected a design that goes up two stories instead of spreading out on one, and provides ease of access throughout. This coming Sunday, April 24, Garden View is hosting an open house from noon to 2 p.m., where guided tours will be taking place for those interested in seeing the beautiful new building and that home-like atmosphere.

Garden View has four two-bedroom, two-bath apartments, one two-bedroom, one-bath as well as 31 one-bedroom apartments. It features photographic artwork that came directly from the Carroll area and farm-fresh foods from local farmers’ markets served to order, restaurant style at family tables. She says she is most excited about their planned staffing that is different than other facilities around the area, with a nurse in attendance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She says Garden View is very much a social model, but being St. Anthony, they have a medical responsibility and they are pleased to be able to go above and beyond in the care of their tenants. The other feature they are incorporating puts the level of services in the hands of those living there.

During Sunday’s open house, Gov. Kim Reynolds will speak after the blessing from Father Kevin Richter, which will begin at 1 p.m. This will be located in the parking lot, and golf carts will be on hand to shuttle people from other parking areas to the program. Nuzback says they will accept their first tenant on July 9 and they have set a timeline of admitting about 12 tenants per month, until the apartments are all occupied. For those unable to attend the open house, staff will give tours during regular business hours. These can be scheduled and marketing materials can be requested by calling Nuzback at 794-5050.
