As the nation mourns the passing of former President, George HW Bush, our state’s leaders are also expressing their sympathies to the family. United States Senator, Chuck Grassley, released a statement Saturday detailing his service and commitment to his country. He says Bush led an incredible life, having been a naval aviator in World War II, serving as a congressman and diplomat in China, acting as head of the Central Intelligence Agency and honorably serving as vice president to President Ronald Reagan. All of this before becoming our 41st president. “He will be remembered, not only for his professional achievements, but for the warmth and kindness he showed to his friends and political opponents alike,” Grassley says. “President Bush will be missed, but his life and service to our nation will be celebrated.” President Bush died this past Friday at 94 years old.
