Sen. Grassley Visits Carroll To Stump For Republicans On The Ballot

U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley, spoke at a political fundraiser in Carroll County yesterday (Wednesday) to encourage voters to support Republican candidates. Iowa House of Representatives District 12 candidate, Brian Best, hosted the event at the Greasewood Flats Ranch, along with two other candidates running for local offices: Ashten Wittrock, who is running for Carroll County Recorder; and Stephanie Hausman, candidate for the District Four Board of Supervisors seat. Before introducing Grassley, Best told those in attendance he has and will continue to follow through on the campaign promises he has made since he was elected in 2014.

Prior to addressing the crowd, Grassley responded to a request from Hausman for campaign advice. He told her the same thing that he tells new senators, and that is “today is the first day of the rest of your campaign.”

Grassley then turned his attention to the upcoming Nov. 6 midterm elections. He said the United States’ economy has been relatively stagnant for the last decade but recently managed to record a four percent growth in GDP. Grassley credited those gains to Republican efforts to reduce regulations.

He added the recent federal tax cuts have contributed greatly to that growth as well. Grassley said the gains in the last two years may be lost if Republicans are not elected, and indicated fiscally conservative candidates at all levels of government are essential to continue their progress.
