Sac City Plans For Quick Turnaround On $3.5 Million Sewer Update

Sac City officials have started planning for a new sewer update and are eyeing an aggressive timeline for when construction could get started. The city is aiming for a groundbreaking in 2018 on the estimated $3.5 million project. City Administrator, Jamie Lawrence, says they have formed a committee to lead them through the initial stages.

That committee is already lining up funding options. Lawrence says the project will be much more than just replacing the city’s current sewers.

He says the existing sewers are overdue for some work. Lawrence believes adding infrastructure at the campground will have the added benefit of making them more attractive to visitors. The fall deadline for construction is only a target date at this point. Lawrence says construction times can be shifted with limited impact to the overall project.
