Rotary Raises The Stakes In Their Annual Card Tournament This Weekend

The Carroll Rotary will be holding their perennially popular card tournament fundraiser this coming Saturday, April 21 at the Carroll Country Club. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and the tournament will begin at noon. Rotary member, Adam Schweers, says it will feature two favorites and one new game this year.

Schweers says that the Cribbage option was introduced by popular demand.

Rotary Foundation Chair, Bob Fasbender, says in past years they have sold raffle tickets, but this year they will be concentrating solely on the cards and giving players the opportunity to earn more cash. This is just one of many fundraisers for the Rotary, with the dollars raised coming back into the Carroll community. The Rotary has participated in the donation of bicycle helmets and dictionaries to third graders, in the swaddle program at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, by supporting New Hope Village, the downtown restroom project and they are a sponsor for Carrollfest. Fasbender says they are always open to new ways to support community efforts.

There will be a 40-person maximum on Texas Hold ‘Em, 30 teams for Euker and a 20-person limit on Cribbage. The Carroll Country Club will be offering food and drink specials throughout the day. The Rotary is asking people to RSVP for the event, letting them know which game they will want to play. This can be done through the contact points included below.
