Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is very excited to now be entering the last week, and final push in her campaign for re-election. The Republican incumbent has been traveling the state in her Keep Iowa Moving tour, with a goal of keeping Iowans motivated, engaged and to convey the importance of turning out to the polls next Tuesday, Nov. 6. At her stop at the Carroll Hy-Vee Tuesday, she says it is an honor to serve the people of a state that is “getting it done.”

She says they are also recording historic investments in Iowa’s youth through education and job training and in finding solutions to residents’ healthcare needs. Reynolds wants to remind voters that even though these amazing things are happening now, it has not always been this way.

Iowa has been recognized as the number one state in the nation, and she says that is a testament to the hardworking people who live here. Iowa is the third best managed state in the country as well, incomes are going up, taxes are going down, the budget is balanced, cash reserves are full and there is a $127 million surplus. Reynolds wants to make sure that this momentum in the right direction continues and we don’t go backwards.

She also took the bull by the horns and addressed the current scare tactics being used to sway votes. The latest one she wanted to discuss with the people of Carroll is the claim that Republicans are going to take away IPERS, the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System.

She says they will be ensuring IPERS is available now and well into the future. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more in upcoming broadcasts from the Tuesday rally that also featured State Auditor, Mary Mosiman and other local Republican candidates.
