Report Shows First Year For Lake View’s New Splash Pad A Success

Lake View officials are pleased to report that the first season of operations for the new splash pad in Speaker Park was a tremendous success. According to City Administrator, Scott Peterson, the only problems they had were shortly after the splash pad opened just before Memorial Day.

Those minor leaks are the only mechanical problems that have been identified at the splash pad. Peterson notes the report did include some recommendations that would make maintaining and using the new attraction much easier.

The city plans to utilize city staff to cut back some branches and install some additional paver stones in the area to reduce runoff. That work is expected to be finished by the time the splash pad opens next summer, all for a minimal cost. Peterson says the city council and Lake View residents seem to be happy with how the project turned out.

The Lake View City Council will meet next on Monday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the East Sac High School to present to the board of education regarding the district’s facilities. The are also holding a closed session meeting beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Lake View Municipal Building.
