Report Shows Certified Enrollment At CCSD Has Remained Relatively Stable Over The Last Seven Years

A report presented to the Carroll Community School District Board of Education (CCSD) at last night’s (Monday) meeting shows that total enrollment has remained relatively stable over the past several years. Since the 2012-13 school year, enrollment has increased from 1,690 to 1,719, an average of just under five students per year. Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Lein, says one of the best parts about the report is how it shows that more kids are enrolling in than enrolling out in each year listed.

There are only two years in the last seven in which CCSD saw a decrease, a loss of 15 students in 2013-14 and 40 students in 2016-17. The biggest gain during that same time was recorded in 2015-16, when the district added 27 new students to their total. According to Lein, having regular growth is obviously a positive, but he says other schools in Carroll’s conference have seen too much.

Lein adds the report shows the school board and district are on the right track.

He notes it is worth pointing out that the certified enrollment numbers include the high school students from Ar-We-Va taking courses at Carroll. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from Monday’s Board of Education meeting in future newscasts. Their next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school media center.
