Democratic Presidential Candidate, John Delaney, spoke at the Iowa State Fair Friday to promote his party’s platform and promote his 99th county stop in Carroll County Sunday afternoon. Delaney is the U.S. House Representative for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, and he says he is hearing many of the same concerns from constituents in Iowa as he does back in his home district.
Delaney is in the midst of his 14th campaign trip to Iowa this week. Iowa is known for being a swing state and having the nation’s first caucuses in presidential elections. More than two years remain until the next election in 2020, and, according to Delaney, Democrats need to show voters everywhere what they have to offer.
Delaney is aiming to become the first Democrat since 2008 to visit all 99 Iowa’s counties. He will meet his goal this weekend in Carroll.
Delaney will be at the Carroll Pizza Ranch from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a meet and greet. Prior to Sunday’s visit, Delaney will have made stops in Pocahontas, Rockwell City, Sac City and many more Iowa communities. A link to the full schedule of Delaney’s stops can be found included below.
