Over $25,000 In Damages Result From Two-Vehicle Accident Tuesday Near Carroll

There was just over $25,000 in damages reported in a two-vehicle accident on the northeast side of Carroll on Tuesday evening. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Noble Avenue and 190th Street at approximately 5:50 p.m. An investigation into the incident revealed that 35-year-old Nyeg Bol Nyeg of Des Moines was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry eastbound on 190th Street and failed to stop at the posted stop sign. He entered the intersection and struck the driver’s side of a Mediacom Communications Corporation 2017 Ford transit van, driven by 33-year-old Jesse Lee Greenlee of Carroll. The impact caused the van to spin 180 degrees and tip onto the passenger’s side. All parties involved were transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected minor injuries. There was an estimated $7,000 in damage to the Camry and $20,000 to the Mediacom van. Nyeg was cited for operating a non-registered vehicle, failure to provide proof of financial security and failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.
