A Brighton man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday south of Sac City. Sac County Sheriff, Ken McClure, reports that his office responded at approximately 8:30 p.m. July 1 to the curves on County Road M-54. A witness told authorities that 55-year-old Ricky Zickefoose was driving a 1985 Honda west on 280th Street, when he failed to stop for the posted stop sign at M-54. He was driving at highway speeds when he went off the road at the t-intersection and entered the cornfield. Zickefoose was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City by Sac County Emergency Medical Services, then later airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City for treatment of his injuries. The Sac City Police Department assisted at the scene.
