There was an estimated $2,000 in vehicle damage, and no injuries, in a non-collision accident Saturday night near Carroll. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on east Highway 30, near the Carroll Bowl at approximately 11:51 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 18-year-old Koltin Glenn Larsen of Carroll, was in the eastbound, right-hand lane. A 2014 Ford Focus, driven by 18-year-old Marissa Leigh Kennebeck of Carroll, was also eastbound, but in the left-hand lane. Kennebeck started to make a right turn into the Carroll Bowl driveway and Larsen was forced to swerve to the right to avoid a collision. His vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch, coming to rest near the bowling alley’s parking lot. Kennebeck was cited for unsafe turn or failure to give signal.
