No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Jefferson. At approximately 2:36 p.m., the Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of 220th and N. Mulberry Streets. According to authorities, Thomas Hammel, of Jefferson, was stopped at the intersection in a 2017 Ford F-150. Hammel left the posted stop sign into oncoming traffic and was struck in the rear corner by a 2011 Jeep Liberty, driven by Sarah Klocke of Carroll. There was a reported $500 in damage to the Ford and approximately $1,500 in damage to the Klocke Jeep. Hammel was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
