No Injuries After Two Cars Strike Bridge East Of Carroll

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a weather-related accident Saturday, March 17 on Highway 30 east of Carroll at approximately 5:47 p.m. A 2000 Buick LeSabre, driven by 21-year-old Nicholas Stephen Boyd of Humboldt, was eastbound on Highway 30 when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway. He struck the south bridge guard rail on the Storm Creek bridge, and the impact cause him to travel back into the oncoming lane of traffic. He then struck a westbound 2006 Buick Lacross that was driven by 23-year-old Virginia Mae Brower of Lanesboro. Her vehicle was pushed into the north side of the concrete bridge. There was an estimated $1,500 in damages to the Boyd vehicle and $4,000 to the Brower car. No damages to the bridge were reported and there were no injuries.
