Nearly One Year From Conceptual To Creation As Equipment Is Delivered For Kellan’s Kingdom

This day has been over a year in the making, as Pat and Ali Tigges watched playground equipment for Carroll’s first all-inclusive playground, Kellan’s Kingdom, being unloaded at Northeast Park in Carroll this (Tuesday) morning.

The next step is for the engineers to spend about a day at the park before the dirt and concrete work begins, then the rubber surfacing can be applied.

Another goal is to have the playground equipment played on yet this year.

Tigges says that they will definitely be throwing a big party out there next spring to celebrate the first full year of use for the park. Fundraising began in the spring of last year. The Tigges’, along with their family and friends, were able to fundraise over $110,000. The city allocated $50,000 for the playground and Kellan’s Kingdom received $25,000 in grants. All of this was done by October of last year. Tigges says she and her husband have said it time and time again, that it has been amazing and humbling to see the support from the community, and everybody is going to be able to take a look at this and say they played a part in something that benefits the entire area.
