The Central Iowa Division of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps will be hosting a new member informational open house on Wednesday, April 18, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Barlow Memorial Library Community Room in Iowa Falls. This leadership and adventure program for youth ages 10 to 17 is designed to give them the opportunity to learn more about the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Army and Air Force. Being a member has its advantages, as depending on the rate achieved in the Naval Sea Cadets, they may be able to enlist in the armed forces at an advanced pay grade. Being an honorably discharged member is also looked on favorably by the selection boards for military academies and ROTC program scholarships. Training through the cadet program is available over the summer and one weekend month throughout the year. More information is available through contact details included below.
