A snowmobile accident that claimed the life of a Milford man remains under investigation. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reports the accident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 4 in Clay County. Officers from the DNR and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene on the Little Sioux River northeast of Sioux Rapids, where 39-year-old Justin Robert Stahly had been traveling northbound on the river when he struck a tree. Stahly, who was riding with a group of other snowmobilers, was pronounced dead at the scene.
