MidAmerican Energy announced Wednesday that they have now officially surpassed the 50 percent mark in providing renewable energy. “MidAmerican Energy has achieved an exciting milestone as a renewable energy leader,” says Adam Wright, President and CEO. “We have now crossed the 50-yard line and we’re moving closer to the goal, which is the vision we announced in 2016 to ultimately provide 100 percent renewable energy for our customers.” MidAmerican launched the GreenAdvantage last year that quantifies the amount of renewable energy its electric customers can claim and recently announced their latest wind energy project. At the end of May, MidAmerican Energy executives said they expect to complete Wind XII in late 2020, which is subject to approval by the Iowa Utilities Board. The company leads the nation in the percentage of electric generation from wind.
