Mason City Man Gets More Than A Motorist Assist When K-9 Alerts On Narcotics

A Mason City man was arrested and faces drug charges in Audubon County from a motorist assistance call this past weekend. The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday, Aug. 25, at about 12:31 a.m., a deputy responded to the call for assistance on Pheasant Avenue. The K-9 unit, Axel, alerted to the presence of narcotics and a search was conducted, uncovering methamphetamine and marijuana. Twenty-four-year-old Zackary Tyler Scott was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver, methamphetamine, and possession with intent to deliver, marijuana, both felonies, He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. After appearing before the magistrate, Scott was transferred back to the Audubon County jail and is being held on a $100,300 bond.
