Thanks to donations through the West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation and the Warren H. Timmerman Charitable Trust, residents of the Manning Plaza have been able to enjoy a new ride this summer. The Manning Regional Healthcare Center long-term care facility recently purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan that features a two-wheelchair ramp and flexible seating to accommodate the needs of their clientele. The residents are able to go on outings multiple times per week, picking where they want to go and what they want to see. “Our residents love the new van,” says Activity Director, DeEtte Grabill. “Once we get buckled up, I ask them where they want to go today. Sometimes they want to go to nearby towns or parks or enjoy a leisurely drive around the countryside. Many times, the group will enjoy just touring Manning and seeing all of the changes and progress that is being made,” Grabill adds.
