A Manning man has been sentenced to jail time after pleading guilty to assault charges. According to court records, 35-year-old Anthony John Bruns was sentenced Tuesday in District Court for Carroll County to serve 60 days in the Carroll County jail with all but two days suspended. He was also placed on unsupervised probation for a period of one year. The charge stems from an incident inside the jail on July 10. At approximately 9:30 p.m., a fight occurred between Bruns and another prisoner, Robert Benjamin Waite. Jail surveillance video showed Bruns engaged in a verbal argument with Waite that then escalated into a physical confrontation.
