Manning Man Found In Possession Of Stolen Vehicles Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Charge

A Manning man originally arrested for stealing two vehicles has reached an agreement with prosecutors and entered a guilty plea to a single misdemeanor charge. On Jan. 19, 41-year-old Kyle Gene Lohrmann was charged in District Court for Carroll County with two counts of second-degree theft, a class D felony, and possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor. According to court records, Lohrmann was found in possession of a stolen 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck and a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix on Nov. 20, 2017. Authorities also located a small amount of marijuana after conducting a consent search of Lohrmann’s residence. On Thursday, Oct. 25, he entered a guilty plea to the possession charge and was granted a deferred judgement. He was also ordered to pay $440 in fines and surcharges and placed on informal probation for one year. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss both second-degree theft counts. Following successful completion of his probation, court records regarding the matter will be expunged.
