Man Who Walked Away From Residential Facility Arrested In Carroll On Tuesday

Authorities from both Greene and Carroll Counties were alerted to the possible presence of a young man who had not returned at the allotted time to a residential facility and was reported as escaped on Monday, Oct. 15. The Jefferson Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office searched an area in the 700 block of North Wilson Street at around 10 p.m. Monday, but did not locate 25-year-old Dustin Hill. On Tuesday, Oct. 16, at approximately 10:10 a.m., a deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spotted Hill as a passenger in a vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on South Main Street. Hill was taken into custody on the outstanding escape warrant. During the process, a search uncovered a plastic baggie containing marijuana in a pocket of his jeans and Hill will be facing additional charges for the controlled substance violation.
