Lohrville Runs Away With $10,000 Prize In Set The Pace Challenge

The small Calhoun County town of Lohrville has announced they are walking, and running, away with $10,000 from the Healthiest State Initiative and Grand Blue Mile 2018 Set the Pace challenge. The annual event presents the prize money to be used on a project to promote activity spaces, such as parks, playgrounds and/or trails, that are safe and accessible. The race was held Tuesday, April 24, and Lohrville recorded the highest number of participants based on their percentage of population out of the record-breaking 35 communities that participated. “I am excited that our small community was able to set the pace with such a great response—this award gives a great opportunity to support our active population,” says Lohrville Mayor, Donny Hobbs. Representatives from the Healthiest State Initiative and the Grand Blue Mile have reached out to Lohrville leaders to not only congratulate the community, but to also learn more about what they will be planning to do with the prize money. We will bring you more on those plans as details become available.
