The Lake View Fire Department is seeking additional funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 from the communities they serve. According to Administrator, Scott Peterson, the city council convened in a joint meeting on Monday evening between officials from the surrounding townships and representatives from the department. Peterson says the request was relatively close to previous requests, but it did come in higher than last year.
That additional $10,000 brings the department’s request to just over $68,000. Peterson says the department is in a good financial positions, but there are some costly expenses projected to occur in FY 2020.
The city council did not make a decision on the department’s request at last night’s (Monday) meeting. Peterson indicates they will continue to examine the budget and make a determination at a later date.
