Lake City Man Arrested And Charged For Allegedly Breaking Into Glidden Restaurant

A Lake City man was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant last week for allegedly breaking into and stealing from a Glidden restaurant. According to court records, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Shane Michael McDougall near the Calhoun County line on Thursday on a third-degree burglary charge, a class D felony. The charge stems from an incident on the evening of July 29, 2017 in which he is accused of forcibly entering the Glidden Dairy Mart with the intent to commit theft. McDougall was released from the Carroll County jail on his own recognizance following an appearance before the magistrate. If found guilty of the charge, he faces up to five years in prison and a maximum of $7,500 in fines, but the sentences could be increased due to his status as a habitual offender. McDougall’s next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
