Labor Day Weekend Filled With Community Events In Lake View

Community events are planned for all three days of the long Labor Day Weekend as Lake View celebrates the unofficial end of summer. Tomorrow (Saturday), the final Farmers’ Market of the session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in downtown Lake View. Residents will also be able to join in adding sidewalk art during “Chalk the Walk” during this time. On Sunday, riders will hop on their bikes for Ronald’s Road Rally to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses. Signup begins a noon at The Bar with the ride getting underway at 1 p.m. and ending with live music at Stone Pier. Alex Williams and Jaime Wyatt take the stage at 5 p.m. for the last show of 2018. Both artists have been featured on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know.” The concert is free to attend and food and beverages will be available for purchase during the show. The Lake View Community Club kicks of Labor Day with the annual “Dad’s Belgian Waffles” breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Speaker Park shelter. Customers will be able to purchase breakfast until 12 p.m. with all proceeds going to support the 2019 Stone Pier Summer Concert Series.
