A Kuemper Catholic School Systems sixth through 12th grade instructor was recognized Monday for her commitment to students and her introduction of innovation into the classroom. Technology and business teacher, Nancy Peterman, received the Iowa Technology and Education Connection (ITEC) Local Leadership Award at their annual conference in Des Moines. “Thank you for all you have done and the positive impact you continue to make on students and schools in Iowa,” wrote ITEC board member, Jamie Gilchrist, when notifying Peterman of the award. “ITEC values your contribution to education and supporting technology in our school systems.” Peterman is Kuemper’s technology integration specialist, IT assistant and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) coordinator. She also supervises the high school technology and journalism and social media clubs and the middle school hyperstream club.
