Kuemper And Carroll Focusing On Coming Together In Celebration At “Two Schools, One Community” Event

President of Kuemper Catholic School Systems, John Steffes, and Superintendent of the Carroll Community School District, Dr. Kevin Lein, have announced a collaborative event to kick-off the 2018/2019 school season. Steffes says neither of them can really take credit for the idea as he was approached by a Kuemper parent who made the suggestion. Lein says they both agreed it was a great concept that has led to a variety of fun activities for Thursday, Aug. 16.

Steffes says the event will get underway at 6 p.m. at the Carroll Stadium.

This evening is not just for families of the schools, but is open to anyone interested in joining them. They will be able to get a meal from the booster clubs for a donation, take a tour of the facility and even give something back to the Miracle Field project. Both men say that even though there has been a bit of controversy as of late over the logo on the Carroll Stadium scoreboard, this is about bringing everyone together for what is truly important and will focus on a celebratory atmosphere. Steffes says Carroll is blessed and there are very few towns of this size who have two outstanding schools.

And Lein says both schools are working together to ensure each is represented.

Lein adds that in addition to the investment in this facility, they work together to invest in a lot of other things academically, and that is what is truly important. Stadium construction has been progressing nicely, and Steffes and Lein believe they will have almost everything ready for the tours and activities on Aug. 16. The only thing in question is the video board and the ability to show a movie. That portion of the evening is tentative for right now. But the one thing that almost everyone in the community needs to come out and support is a staff flag football game, that has Steffes and Lein pairing up on the same team, hopefully showcasing that by working together on and off the field, there is a winning outcome for everyone involved. More details about exactly what will be taking place during the “Two Schools, One Community” event can be found below.
