Jefferson Man Injured In Motorcycle Accident, Then Authorities Learn Motorcycle Was Stolen

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Police Department worked together on a motorcycle accident on Highway 30 east of Jefferson at about 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30. The driver, 42-year-old Jody Schad of Jefferson, was seriously injured when he lost control of the 1979 Harley Davidson Flathead. He was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for treatment. The motorcycle was totaled in that single-vehicle accident. Just a few hours later, at about 10:21 p.m., a Jefferson resident contacted police about a stolen motorcycle. James Williams reported his motorcycle had been stolen from his home, and he provided the responding officer with the name of a suspect. That name was Jody Schad, the man involved in the accident earlier in the evening. Charges are pending the completion of a full investigation.
