A Jefferson man was arrested after a 14-year-old male was treated for a reaction to having ingested an unknown narcotic last weekend. At approximately 2:01 a.m. on Saturday morning, 53-year-old Daryn Mallory was booked into the Greene County jail for drug distribution to a person under 18, possession or control of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, first-offense supplying a person underage alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest resulted from a request for medical attention when the juvenile male contacted Greene County Emergency Medical Services, saying he believed he might be having a heart attack, brought on by the unknown narcotic. A joint investigation by the Jefferson Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office included an interview with other juveniles present, who led them to Mallory’s apartment in the 100 block of East State Street.
