Employers in western Iowa are invited to join IowaWORKS next week in Denison for an upcoming educational seminar. The four-hour discussion focuses on a variety of topics with presentations from professionals working in each field. One of the many issues highlighted will be the changes to healthcare and the associated costs moving into 2019, presented by Lynn Schreder, of KHI Solutions, and Jamie Bramman, with Thams Agency. Ben Hansen, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Gross and Company, will then provide an overview of the federal tax changes scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 1, 2019. Todd Thams, of Thams Agency, will review trends in workers’ compensation claims and provide tips on potentially reducing those costs. Lisa Smith, with the Employers’ Council of Iowa, will close out the seminar with a presentation on the different ways generations prefer to share information and how to utilize that to improve communication in the workplace. The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Boulders Conference Center in Denison.
