Iowa Lottery Finalist For International Award For 2017 Fraud Investigation

The Iowa Lottery has been named as a finalist for an international gaming-compliance award for last year’s jackpot-fraud investigations. They join four other organizations up for the 2018 Award for Outstanding Achievement from GamingCompliance, a provider of independent legal, regulatory and business intelligence to the global gambling industry. The Iowa Lottery’s investigation concluded in 2017 with guilty pleas from three men accused of rigging games in five states. Eddie Tipton, a former lottery computer programmer, was sentenced in August to up to 25 years in prison on three felony charges in Iowa and Wisconsin. His partners, Tommy Tipton and Robert Rhodes, also pleaded guilty for their association with the crimes. GamingCompliance presents annual awards in 11 categories to recognize excellence in regulatory and responsible gaming. The winning organizations will be announced at the 2018 Global Regulatory Awards on April 18 in London.
