Icy Roadway Cause Of Rollover Accident North Of Carroll Saturday Morning

Extremely slick roadways on Saturday morning are responsible for a single-vehicle accident on Highway 71 north of Carroll. At approximately 6:24 a.m. the Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene near the intersection with 160th Street. Twenty-six-year-old Kelsey Ann Powell of Carroll had been driving a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan southbound on Highway 71 when she lost control. The van entered the east ditch, rolling over before coming to rest. Powell was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of possible injuries. There was an estimated $8,000 in damage to the vehicle and Powell was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
